This November we are going to rethink art in a great initiative by the Thyssen Museum: 'Version Thyssen'.

If needs to be done in the SKETCHBOOK but if you also want to participate in their contest (they have 6 prices between 300€ to 700€ and Museum's advantages) you can do it in the project book.

Improve your mark and INCREASE YOUR CREATIVITY - October 2020.

Howdie Students! 

We have a great sketchbook already and we should use it even more. So, each month I will post a CHALLENGE, to gain positive points for your mark. 

In October, we are going to join the Drawing Challenge of INKTOBER. 

I know, doing one drawing every day is though but I invite you to do at least 15 days of it. 

Write the date next to the sketch and the name of the challenge you've chosen. 

Rules? Only ink for the drawing and must be related to the prompt of the day. For example the first prompt was FISH, so you've drawn a under the sea landscape.

New school year!

Welcome back to school! I hope you had a great summer and have come back with your batteries ready for a new school year and plenty of art. 

So, let's begin with the materials you will need: 

• Graphite pencils (HB, 2H, 2B)
• Colored pencils
• Felt-tip pencils (optional) 
• Compass
• Ruler and Set Square (30/60º and the 45º)   
• Fine drawing pens
• Drawing block A4
• Blank sketchbook > A4 or A5, we will use one half for the theory and the other half for the sketches. 

If you have doubts about what the material is, click on it so you can see and image. BRANDS are a recommendation, you can bring the materials of your choice. 

Materials are for individual use and necessary for the subject so do not forget them at home!

How will you be evaluated?  

a) 30% EXAM - you will need at least 3 points out of 10. 

b) 70% ARTWORK - All projects are MANDATORY and should be hand-in in time. 

a) Artwork: This refers to the worksheets that will be doing throughout the year to practice the concepts and the projects, which would be one per unit. Also, I will take into consideration the Classroom Participation: Always bring your material and try to participate actively when the situation requires it. 

b) Exam: There will be ONE exam each term, the exam will be in ENGLISH and will have a section to check vocabulary and practice exercises. You will need to get a 3 to average out your mark. 

How do we present the artwork? 

There will be an Online Classroom to upload them. 

Be careful when taking the picture so the image and information are clear. Follow the guidelines and everything should be fine: 

 - If the artwork is horizontal, take the picture horizontally.

 - Make sure your name is written at the top right corner of it. 

 - Avoid blurry/ dark images.
